So, in a few weeks I will be back at Atlas to get ready to open on May 1st.
After last year late summer inauguration we are now delighted to welcome our guest from May to mid October. We are looking forward to meet and to get to know you on the terrace or in our magical garden in the evening while sipping a cool glass of local wine. We've opened Atlas to share a lifestyle, to meet people, to have fun. We are nomads, we change homes, states and even continents each 2/3 years. We love adventure and new places. We though to Atlas as a place that will bring the world to us. We are not done with moving around yet, but this project is a special one, the idea to be visited again and again, to become a hub, an inspiration for few or many, is what fueled us. We are starting to work on future collaborations with international chefs for week long cooking classes, where food with melt with fun, wine, history, local discoveries, adventures, leisure and anything that sounds good and heavenly. We want to offer to our guest and future friends something unique, an experience to be remembered forever for it's simplicity, warmth and peace. This is not our trade, I'm a director, Sabrina my wife, a glass artist, amazing chef and much more. We came to Gallipoli because my younger brother and architect Jacopo De Carlo one year earlier opened a beautiful B&B a few blocks from here called Casa Galateo.
We loved it so much that decided to jump into the same adventure, we found this amazing palace previously used as a B&B that strongly needed some love, attention a definitely restyling. So we tried to bring to it the same eclectic feel we give to all the homes we remodeled and lived in through the years. While at day I was working with my crew to restoration, in the night I was glued on ebay and totally decorated it night after night, auction after auction. Te result you will judge yourself. It's a work in progress, every week a new piece arrives, Atlas will never be finished, this is our goal, we like to be a live project, that changes with times and moods. Furthermore to keep this concept alive we have decided that everything can be purchased inside Atlas. A couch, a lamp, a carpet, a book, anything you like just ask us. So tonight from our home in Bozeman, Montana with the melting snow outside our windows I close my eyes and imagine to listen to the birds singing in our garden on the pomegranate trees, I see the lighthouse in the distance from our terrace and taste a glass of rose' wine, waiting to open the doors to Atlas and to meet new friends.
